Minnesota GreenStep Cities is a voluntary challenge, assistance and recognition program that cities of all sizes can use to achieve municipal best practices, and community sustainability and quality-of-life goals in:

  • Buildings and lighting

  • Environmental management

  • Transportation

  • Land use and

  • Economic development, and

  • Community engagement


City-Committee Workshop

Striving for Municipal Excellence

The GreenStep Cities Marine committee is committed to working with the City Council and the broader community
to achieve small-town excellence in municipal best practices while building a more resilient and sustainable Marine,
for today and for future generations. GreenStep Marine volunteers can provide city leaders with:

  • Research assistance

  • Grant writing assistance to identify and secure funding or technical assistance when needed

  • Expertise from community members who work in relevant fields

  • Community engagement with education, communications, and volunteer recruitment to implement projects
